The OHSAS18000 Occupational Health and Safety Management System is an international standard jointly launched by 13 organizations, including the British Standards Institution (BSI) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV), in 1999. It serves as the foundation for organizations (enterprises) to establish an occupational health and safety management system. It is also the primary basis for enterprises to conduct internal audits and for certification bodies to carry out certification audits. It emerged as another significant focus following the implementation of ISO9000 and ISO14000 international standards.
